Updates, updates, updates…

Lots has been happening, so instead of our usual Techniques Tuesday newsletter, we're giving you an update on what's been happening here at MAT Central!

Lots has been happening, so instead of our usual Techniques Tuesday newsletter, we’re giving you an update on what’s been happening here at MAT Central!

A brand spanking new site!

It’s launched! We’ve been working furiously over the past few months on a completely new website design. This weekend we shifted it over to a faster server and launched! Thanks for you patience through this transition. There are still a few glitches in the new site, but they should all be cleaned by the end of the week. If you see something amiss, by all means, let us know

This new site is cleaner and faster. Since most of you access the site through a mobile device, we’ve better optimized for mobile. You’ll now see a little “hamburger” navigation on the top right of the screen instead of the old navigation bar. So if you are not sure where to find the page you’re looking for, click the hamburger.

Click the hamburger to navigate or click the logo to go to the homepage.

The overall navigation through the site is much more visual and more intuitive, although our longtime users may take a few visits to get used to the redesign.

Speak Korean?

MAT is now available in Korean. The “Advanced Myoskeletal Techniques” textbook has been translated into Korean and the University of South Korea is in the process of translating the other two. We may soon see translations coming for China as well.

We’ve always had a strong international following and practitioners around the world are using Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques. Over the past year, our eLearning platform has made it easier than ever for international students to get access to MAT training without having to pay loads of cash for shipping costs.

Our workshops are going international too! Aubrey Gowing, a senior trainer from Ireland, will be offering classes in Melbourne, Australia and the Gold Coast, Australia; London, England; Mullingar, Ireland; and Singapore

Erik Dalton workshop updates

Erik teaches only two workshops per year. The Oklahoma City workshop sold out almost two months in advance. His next one will be held in Costa Rica. Be sure to save your spot now as it is sure to sell out soon as well.

If you can’t attend one of Erik’s workshops, his senior trainers have workshops throughout the United States. Check out the website for our current schedule.

eXceptional eLearning!

We are pleased to announce that our eLearning library is complete. Every MAT home study course has been updated and is available as an online ecourse. These online courses contain everything you get in the home study courses: You get all the video, all the written material and a downloadable manual of all the techniques that you can print up and keep for reference in your treatment room.

Now you can get the Foundational Bundle (contains four foundational courses) or the Complete Dalton Library (the four foundational courses + five advanced courses) online. Because there is no hard product that we need to produce you save big time. You’ll save about $1,000 by getting the Complete Library online, compared to buying the books and DVDs. In addition, there’s no shipping, so you save there as well. There’s no better time to pick up one of these fabulous bundles.

Degree program in MAT at Indiana State University

Lastly, I would like to thank Indiana State University’s Applied Medicine and Rehabilitation Department for honoring me with a “Distinguished Affiliate Faculty Member” award. ISU Myoskeletal instructor Charlie Peebles and department chair Dr. John Pommier presented me with the award at the Hulman Memorial Student Union following my Myoskeletal Therapy lecture and demonstration.

The successful collaboration between Indiana State University and my Freedom From Pain Institute began in 2012 and was aptly named the “Advanced Myoskeletal Massage Therapy” program. This partnership has resulted in the only minor degree in massage therapy platform offered by a major United States university. The program is attracting a variety of health professionals including massage, physical and occupational therapists.

Whitney Lowe summed it up best when he said: “This is a significant move forward for massage therapy education and a possible model for different forms of advanced education in partnership with other schools and programs.”

To elevate the status and continued growth of the Indiana State University program, the Freedom From Pain Institute is in the process of financing an ongoing continuing education scholarship grant to help fund qualified and passionate students of physical medicine.
